Disney and Nickelodeon Show Rankings, Part 4

It's now December, and such begins the Christmas season hubbub. I'm quite behind on finishing this Disney/Nickelodeon show rankings series. If you need something trivial to be frustrated about, then you can be angry with these shows. Or, perhaps you like them. Thankfully, I have 5 shows for this list. They are in no particular order.

Sorry, Babe Shows (as in, "Sorry, babe. You didn't quite make it.")

Fish Hooks (2010-2014) (moved at some point to Disney XD)

I generally enjoy Kyle Massey's humor, but if you ask him to be the voice of a fish, then it all goes downhill from there. The animation was not compelling. Are they trying to make an off-brand SpongeBob show? (I know many folks in the Gen X/Millennial generations grew up with SpongeBob, and I mean no offense to that show. I'm making a point for a commonality.)

A.N.T. Farm (2011-2014)

The one redeeming quality from this show is the Halloween episodes (1 for each of the 3 seasons), which I am not counting in this ranking. This show has some quirky characters, but the dialogue is predictable. The writers threw a strange relationship into Season 3, and the characters lack a strong presence throughout the show. Somehow, this show is on Disney+.

JONAS (2009-2010)

Season 1 of this show premiered in between Camp Rock and Camp Rock 2. I don't really know what it is about this show. It's like someone said to Joe, Nick, and Kevin, "you should have a TV show." A lot of the jokes are too young for the actors. Season 2 (JONAS L.A.) is a little better. It has Joe and Stella's airport scene, which has good dialogue and genuine acting. Other than that, they possibly did the best with what they had. Bottom line: The Jonas brothers were already successful musicians, and they didn't need a TV show.

I Didn't Do It (2014-2015)

I watched the pilot episode in October to see if it was really as bad as I remembered. The plot was ordinary. Lindy and Logan were good lead characters, but not memorable. Season 2 has one compelling romance, which could keep your interest. This show is not worth binge-watching, unless you want to try to keep up with the odd plots.

Bizaardvark (2016-2019)

Where to begin? This show had potential, but the plots ran amuck. I applaud the staff for casting two women of color as leads for this show. It is a show about YouTubers (but with a different name), and the cast for the first and part of the second season includes YouTuber Jake Paul. Some of the jokes fall flat. At least it brought Olivia Rodrigo into the Disney family.

Have you seen or do you like any of these shows? What redeemable qualities am I missing?

Thanks for reading.
