Maroon 5 V Tour Concert Review (with Magic! and Rozzi Crane) February 28, 2015 Indianapolis, IN

Hey there!  Well, time for my first ever concert review.  I guess I'll start with the first opener: Rozzi Crane.  She used profanity quite often, so I would not recommend her; however, she did do a decent cover of "Barracuda."  Next was Magic!  They all wore matching red suits.  It was funny in a way.  They performed a new song called "No Way No" and attempted a cover of "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun," which works surprisingly well with their reggae style.  They didn't play their big hit song, "Rude," until the very end, which kind of disappointed me.  Oh well.
Finally, Maroon 5 came out.  They started with a big hit from their most recent album, "Animals."  It was full of energy and was a great opening song.
During "Hollow," the lights which were at first set in a V, then began to rotate.  Also, one of the electric guitarists used the runway for his solo.  Pretty much, either Adam Levine was on the runway, carrying his mic stand with him (why?), or it was the electric guitarist.
The crowd really got into "Love Somebody."  Most people were singing along.  Side Note: Maroon 5 also had very few pauses between their songs.
Adam Levine was standing on the stage with the rest of his band, when he pointed out a sign.  Apparently, a girl near the front used a sign to ask him to prom.  He said, "This is going to be a very difficult question to answer.  I have a very good reason to say no. (He's married.)  Besides, I'm almost 36 years old.  That'd be a little weird, wouldn't it?"  Me: Yes.  People behind me: No!  He continued, "You'll find a high schooler your own age and it will be fine (something like that).  I love you, and thank you so much for supporting us."
Another interesting part of the show was near the middle.  Adam and one of the guitarists were about to do an acoustic version of "She Will Be Loved."  He said that this part would require some audience participation in a way that wouldn't seem like we were participating at first.  He asked us to put our phones away.  People with cameras could still have them out, but, he said, it's different experiencing something in person rather than through a screen.  Every time we thought that he was ready to start the song, he would see someone else near the runway with his/her phone out, and he would ask them to put it away.  Unfortunately, once he started the song, a man a couple rows in front of me started taking pictures with his phone.
They started "Payphone" acapella, which I thought was an interesting choice.
Maroon 5 ended with "Sugar," which put the crowd in a good mood for the snowy drive home.
All in all, their live shows are incredibly similar to their albums.  If you get the chance to see them live, then I would take it.
Thanks for reading!
