New Musical Talent

Well, in case you are into music, here are some new (ish) artists that I have found.  This first group is well-known for their covers: six sisters make up Cimorelli.  You will find tight harmonies and instrumentation among their strengths; a weakness is their occasional talking about random things.  This guy is also known for covers of popular songs; however, he also starred in a Nickelodeon movie called Rags in 2012.  His name is Max Schneider.  He has an extremely powerful voice; you will also see his talented instrument-playing brother Kurt on his videos.  Kurt also has his own YouTube channel.  Now for some more official artists: Anthem Lights is a Christian band who posts covers on YouTube to get popularity.  I honestly have never listened to any of their own music, but their musical covers are great.  At the age of ten, Jackie Evancho was runner-up on the fifth season of America's Got Talent.  She is known for her operatic voice.  Warning, you may shed tears listening to her version of "The Prayer" with Josh Page.  Another girl who was blessed with talent at a young age is Connie Talbot.  Connie was the runner-up on Britain's Got Talent when she was only seven years old.  She has released four albums since her time on television; she also records covers and posts them to YouTube.  I personally am not sure that her vocal style works with all songs; however, she does have a strong voice.

The Waiting, Not Dating Narrative

I was taught not to chase boys, but to wait for the "right one." I heard it from my family and some from my church as a teenager and have carried it with me into my young adult years. It's a passive waiting. I say, "I'm waiting for my future husband" to cover up the fact I'm not making much of an effort to meet men. I'm not dating anyone. High School Musical Songs Ranked, Part 1

Summer vibes and the arrival of HSM the Musical the Series Season 4 in August led to this ranking. My idea was to list all of the rankings in one post, but it will be too long. Songs are from the original trilogy. I'm starting at the bottom, and these songs are in no particular order. Sunday School Musical tier (yes, this exists)- Humuhumu song- originally only on the extended version of HSM 2, but now included on Disney+ *stuck in your head for days When There was Me and You- 3rd in Gabriella's solo songs. An impressive showcase of Vanessa's voice, but not the best in comparison. High School Musical (who says we have to let it go)- I understand the appeal of this being one of the few "musical style" songs in the trilogy, but I don't enjoy it.

Review of Riverdale "The Ides of March" and "How to Get Away with Murder"

I decided to combine two episodes for this post. The plot is getting nuts! Spoilers are in the following sections. Season 4 Episode 13 Betty broke in to the "sanctum sanctorum." No Baxter Brothers contract for Jughead unless he writes a great novel by Friday. This is every writer's nightmare. Archie could close one of his businesses. This wasn't surprising to me, because he has a lot going on while being a high school senior. Veronica is struggling to come to terms with her father's illness. She decides to anger him to keep his mental strength up by competing with the rum business. I couldn't help but laugh at this line from Hiram: "You've awoken the dragon. Prepare to be eaten." Brett from Stonewall does have a tape of Jughead and Betty in their dorm room. Is he the one who was taping all of Riverdale? Singleness and Women's Ministry

It's hard to be single. I guess it could be worse. I'm in my 20s and am not yet considered a spinster. I can still attend young adult groups at church without getting weird looks. But what if I continue to be single into my 30s and beyond? How could that affect my relationship with the church? From what I've seen of women's ministry, many Bible studies and fellowship are centered around a woman's relationships with her husband and children. But what if you do not have either one? If you are used to looking to friends in college or a close-knit group at church for support, this could be alarming.
